Library Policies

Mission Statement- The Spillville Public Library enriches lives, and strengthens our communities by connecting people with ideas,information and services

Library Items check out: 

All items may be renewed if not on a waiting list. No fees for overdue items,  but lost or distroyed items need to be reported and a fee agreement will be made. 

Books/ audio- limit to 10 at a time for 2 weeks.  

Periodicals-1 week. Magazines are kept 1 year. Newspapers- In-house use only. Newspapers are kept 3 months

DVD's /Blu Rays- limit to 4 at a time- Due 4 days from checkout

Puzzles- 500 piece or more-Due 1 month from checkout. Puzzles  less than 500 pieces, due 2 weeks from checkout

Cakepans- Games- limit 2, for 2 weeks.

Musicial CD,s- Limit 4 for 2 weeks. 

Meeting Rooms- Rent for each room is $35.00 Rent for the basement is $30.00. Kitchen is included in the rental price. 

nonprofit groups- free rent.  All are expexted to clean up and put the area as you found it upon leaving. 

alcoholic beverages may be consumed, but not to be sold on site   Please take all cans/bottles with you when you leave.

Item Rental-  The basement chairs and tables may be rented out. 

Library Closings  The library will observe the following holidays and not open for service:

News Years- Memorial Day-4th of July-Labor Day-Thanksgiving-Christmas Eve-Christmas Day

Weather closings will be posted on the door and our website

Gifts and Donations  are welcomed- Gifts must be free of liens or claims-become the property of the library and dispositon is at the discretion of the director

moldy or dirty items will be immediately thown out in order not to harm the current collection or cause danger to the patrons or employees

Magazines less than 2 years old are welcome to put on our sale/donation  areas

VHS Tapes-cassette tapes and encyclopedia sets and Not accepted. 

Monies for purchase for of materials are welcome- monies are deposited in the Trust and Agency Account and will be spent on direction of the board of trustees. by the director. 

Food and Drink is not allowed in the library area
